{"id":282,"date":"2009-03-24T10:07:00","date_gmt":"2009-03-24T10:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mhgoldberg.com\/blog\/?p=282"},"modified":"2017-01-24T17:21:36","modified_gmt":"2017-01-24T22:21:36","slug":"taking-action-on-speed-parity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mhgoldberg.com\/blog\/?p=282","title":{"rendered":"Taking action on speed parity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A coalition of competitive ISPs has called for [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhgoldberg.com\/Letter2009-111.pdf\">pdf<\/a>, 220KB] the CRTC to register its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crtc.gc.ca\/eng\/archive\/2009\/2009-111.htm\">speed matching decision<\/a> with the courts in order to permit enforcement through contempt proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>The group is frustrated that the day before tariffs were due to be filed (March 13), the ILECs filed for a stay, which has not yet been granted. <\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"font-size: 85%; color: rgb(102, 102, 102); text-align: justify;\"><p>Telus Communications applied for a stay of these decisions on 11 March 2009 and Bell Aliant and Bell Canada applied for a stay on 12 March 2009; however, at law both decisions continue in force and must be complied with unless and until a stay is granted.
