\"Vonage\"<\/a>\"ATT\"<\/a>Tomorrow, The 2006 Canadian Telecom Summit<\/a> opens with a keynote address from a pioneer of the new world order, Jeff Citron, founder, chairman and chief strategist of Vonage. The first day closes with a keynote address by Ron Spears, President of AT&T; Business, the icon of the last century of telecommunications. In between, there will be addresses from leaders of wireless and device companies, such as Palm, Nokia and Ericsson, as well as keynotes from HP and the newly rebranded Orange Business Services (formerly known as Equant).<\/p>\n

Panel discussions will cover Wireless applications and competition issues, VoIP evolution and community and social issues, such as rural broadband and illegal content.<\/p>\n

The juxtaposition of the new and old is appropriate as we look at the industry moving forward. Tuesday’s sessions will hear from more industry leaders as well as look at policy issues: how the government needs to evolve its approach to telecom regulation and IT strategies.
